Camping Trip - October 2008
Last October, our family took a short camping trip.  We borrowed a pop up camper from a friend.  It was in the upper 80's in Denver, so we thought that it wouldn't be too much cooler in the mountains.  We went to Golden Gate State Park, which sits at over 9,300 ft above sea level.  The colors of the trees were AMAZING!  But as soon as I got out of the car, I put pants and jackets on everyone.  It was colder than we expected.  After setting up camp, we went on a 3 hour hike.  John carried Ben on his shoulders just about the whole time.  The hike was beautiful.  The kids did great...so did Ben.  This is a picture that was taken on our hike (with our camera set on a post).

Kathy's twin sister, Karen, and her family visited us in Colorado in July 2009.  All the kids love to go to the mountains, especially Winter Park.  It is so much fun to ride up the chair lift, then take the alpine slide down the mountain.  Ben LOVES it!  When we get to the bottom, he takes our hand and leads us to the line to head back up the mountain again....and down we go again!
